THE CUT-HALF THEOREM

"For removing the palm, add half the leftover fingers"
(T(NC)N-2004qx)

This page is designed to share a "discover" of mine in using the Chinese abacus, which I
name it "the cut-haft theorem".

It's totally incomprehensible to me, as according to all of the researches I've made on the
internet and on a small number of rare books in USA written on the subjent until recent
days pointed out, that this trick had never been discovered in the past by any of the
abacus masters. No doubt in my mind that they must know of the trick, yet could that be
because they want to hide the trick from people, or from something, or by some other
mysterious reason, that I don't know.

My attempt when I first found it was to find some place to publish the idea. I've tried that
for more than ten years. No success! It's a bit overdue but still better than not to, so I now
decide to share the idea here.

For the readers who already have some expertise on using the abacus, please be patient!
This project intends to break down the abacus to everyone to understand and thus must be
boringly long for you, but as soon as you scan up to the part of my way of describing the
abacus, I'm sure that you figure out right away the theorem, (which is written just below
the title of the page), and you can stop the reading from there if you want. Then, if by
some chances you know of any place that has already found out about the trick, please be
kind to let me know, I appreciate that!

So, LET'S START THE JOURNEY!
